We stayed at a hotel off the motorway near a beautiful monastery: the perfect half-way point. the hotel is on a business park bordering a small rural town but the friendly owners and clean, immaculate rooms made it a great base. Our private courtyard was a bonus. Breakfast was served in the adjoining restaurant and the staff accommodated us with an excellent meal in our room as the restaurant was closed.

The long stone floor corridor meant some noise could be heard from guests arriving late at night.
